How to turn your empty or unused bedroom into a working doggie/grooming room

One side of the room can become your grooming & table training area. If the room has an outside wall with windows this would be the best place as you have the added benefit of the light from the windows. And you can put a cabinet on a wall for needed supplies, beds or sleeping mats, towels and all the other items you need. We are planning on adding a doggie door on this wall as well, that will allow our kids to go out onto their own 8' x 12' back deck whenever they want to get out for some air or go take care of business.

And the other side can become the area to put your medicine/supplies cabinet and for their pens/crates for napping and sleeping. Our Kids use both depending on their size, but all crates have a 2x2 sleeping mat for their comfort and sleeping. So only a small portion of their bedding area is open with coated grate, and a slide out paper lined pan covering the entire bottom of the crate, for keeping their beds clean in the event they need to go potty during the night. For added precautions, in case one of the young kids gets too close to the edge of the crate to take care of business, we also added a layer of thick mil plastic between the 2 crate shelving units to prevent any possible chance of leakage from the crate shelving unit on top to the crate shelving unit below.

And that 3' x 6' closet you didn't know what to do with becomes a great whelping puppy pen for mom and her newborns. Offering the security of 3 walls around her with plenty of room for her whelping box, food & water dish, and papers for her to use outside of her box where her babies can be safe and secure. Later when the pups are weaned it serves as their own housing area by replacing the whelping box with beds or sleeping mats.
You can have quick access by securing the closet door open, when this room is needed, and using a child gate. When not in use it can serve the dual purpose of storage for bedding, show equipment, and travel carriers.

Our Kids Private Deck

The kids deck has an open center, so they can access their deck by the doggie door anytime, with sections on each side where they can be separated when one of the girls is in heat or if they are going to be outside on the deck for any length of time unsupervised. Each section has it's own water bowl and a mat for taking a nap in the morning or evening when it is not too hot to be outside. The section dividers can also be removed to create 1 large playpen for puppies who are too young to run with the teen and adult dogs, but old enough to go out in the fresh air and play.
The deck also has canopy cover over it to keep direct mid morning sun and heat off the kids, and also provides shady areas for each section. They have a 24' X 48' fenced area just off the deck,  this gives the kids additional space they can go out and play, directly from their deck by a gate, in the yard without fear of other animals getting access to them.

This is the yard where our Poms and yorkie kids get to play and exercise daily. It is fully surrounded by a 6' fence for their protection. Weather permitting, of course, they are let out at 7am every day to enjoy running, playing, and the shade trees. In the summer they have their own kiddy pool, which has just a couple inches of water in it, to jump in and cool off or just play.... And boy do they like their pool! They will gather around it while we are putting in fresh water as the day warms up, just waiting to jump in and get wet.
