“It is the priority of this dance studio to develop in each student confidence and a positive self image through quality dance education.”

   Riverside Dance Center is a performing arts studio located in Riverside,R.I.

We accept students from ages two and one half through adult. We offer training in ballet,tap,jazz, lyric,pointe,hip-hop,and acro-gym. One of our “new” classes this fall will be “Wedding Preparation”. Let us choreograph a romantic "first dance" for the most important day of your life! Also a new adult "Stretch & Tone" class, as well as adult beginner jazz and tap, will be offered on Thursday evenings.

   Our mirrored studio is equipped with air conditioning, as well as a “floating” hard wood floor to minimize injuries and fatigue.

ABOUT US
THE DIRECTOR: Ms. Jo-Ann Donnelly

Ms. Jo-Ann has been teaching dance for more than twenty-five years. She is a member of the Dance Teachers’ Club of Boston and has been tested and certified to teach dance.She is also a member of Dance Alliance.Ms. Jo-Ann is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island with a degree in Elementary Education. She continues to study dance with various choreographers through D.T.C.B., and is currently enjoying the art of “Ballroom” dance.After retiring from her fourth grade teaching position this past June, she is looking forward to devoting more time to her two passions- her family and dance!

Ms. Jo-Ann has recently served as a committee member for D.T.C.B. for their student workshops.She takes pride in offering fun classes for the beginner, as well as, challenging classes for the pre-professional dancer!

THE ASSISTANT DIRECTOR: Ms. Shannon Ashton

Ms. Shannon Ashton, assistant director, is a member of the Dance Teachers' Club of Boston and has been tested and certified to teach dance. She has danced and performed at various competitions, workshops, and showcases for over twenty two years.Ms. Shannon’s extensive training in jazz has brought her success in teaching our Jr. and Sr. Jazz companies, as well as our newly formed “J.D.S. Hip-Hop Crew”. During the past two years, her students have been recipients of silver, gold, and platinum awards. Ms. Shannon continues to motivate and challenge our acro-gym classes.
